Challanges
Toptrail offers VW camper roof tents that customers can customize to their own needs.
Each tent is made to order, so the customer can't see the result before paying. The goal was to build an online store with a product configurator that lets the user choose fabric and thread colour, window shape, placement and other details.
We had to create trust, a sense of quality and craftsmanship. The website had to work equally well on mobile devices. We also had to create a company logo, stylebook and overall design system.
Solution
We created a functional website design with a roof tent configurator with an online purchase flow.
We divided the purchase flow into clear steps, where the user first selects the car model, and the configurator automatically adjusts to the dimensions and specifications of the specific van. When changing the size, fabric, windows and trim materials, the selected options are displayed visually along with the final price.
As part of the project, I also created a new logo and brand stylebook, which served as the basis for the entire visual image. Based on this, I developed a unified design system with variations of each component, ensuring a unified visual language across all pages and a consistent experience on both the website and mobile apps.
